In major news for Hainan’s burgeoning luxury market, powerhouse luxury brand Louis Vuitton is to make its retail debut in the province at the high-end MixC City in Haikou.
The upscale Chinese local market retailer revealed the news, subsequently confirmed by The Moodie Davitt Report, last week.
Chinese company MixC (China resources) is highly regarded by luxury brands for the quality of its property estate and its approach to high-end retail.
The French brand is also keen to enter the Sanya market to the south of Hainan but has yet to find the right opportunity, having opted not to participate in the duty free channel.
