Tong Daochi, a senior official in South China’s Hainan province, is being investigated for suspected serious violations of Party disciplinary rules and laws, said the top anti-graft agency on Sunday.
Tong, a member of the Standing Committee of the Hainan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and secretary of the CPC municipal committee of Sanya, is being investigated by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission.
Tong worked for the China Securities Regulatory Commission and Ministry of Commerce before being appointed to his current position in 2018.
Tong has also worked for international organizations, including as a research fellow at the Rand Corporation, a US-based research organization that offers public policy recommendations, between 1994 and 1998, and at the World Bank.
