During this year’s May Day holiday, Hainan\u2019s total number of inbound and\u00a0outbound travelers\u00a0continued to increase.<\/p>\n
As of 18:00 on May 5, a total of 172 flights and 23,000 passengers arrived in or departed from Meilan and Phoenix International Airports, an increase of 460% over the previous year, with 17,000 travelers passing through Meilan International Airport and 6,000 passengers traveling in and out of Phoenix International Airport.<\/p>\n
On February 9th, the National Immigration Administration announced the expansion of travel purposes for visa-free entry to Hainan for citizens of the\u00a059\u00a0eligible\u00a0countries, who are now permitted to visit\u00a0Hainan for up to 30 days for commercial activities and trade, visits\u00a0and exchanges, family reunions, receiving medical treatment, attending exhibitions, taking part in sporting events,\u00a0and other reasons (excluding long-term work and study).<\/p>\n
Hainan’s visa-free policy for 59 countries is becoming more open and convenient, with extended lengths of stay, expanded purposes\u00a0for visa-free entry, simplified customs procedures, and enhanced ease of travel for individuals. At present, Hainan boasts\u00a048 international air routes to and from countries such as Australia, New Zealand,\u00a0South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Russia, and Thailand, mainly covering Europe, Southeast Asia,\u00a0and other regions.<\/p>\n
