Resorts World Cruises on Sunday commenced its maiden voyage from Hong Kong to Sanya on China’s Hainan Island.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

This marks the start of Resorts World One’s (ex Explorer Dream)\u00a0two- and three-night program with Wednesday and Sunday departures\u00a0every fortnight.<\/p>\n

A celebratory event was held on the ship in Hong Kong prior to its departure. Attendees included Li Zhongguang, deputy director-general Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports of Hainan, together with Hong Kong\u2019s Acting Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, Lau Chun; and Michael Goh, president of Resorts World Cruises.<\/p>\n

The governor of Hainan and the Sanya Tourism Board are on the cruise to Sanya, where festivities will welcome passengers for Monday’s inaugural arrival in Sanya.<\/p>\n

New chapter<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Goh said the inaugural cruise ‘marks a new chapter for our company and our ship, as we continue to innovate new itineraries with popular destinations that will boost the regional tourism sector and provide exciting choices for travelers.’<\/p>\n

Cruise fares start at HK$1,200 (US$153) per person, twin share.<\/p>\n

With Hong Kong\u2019s highly connected network of flights, land and high-speed transportation, sea and ferry links with mainland China and internationally, overseas travelers and mainland Chinese residents, especially those from the Greater Bay Area, will have easy access to embark the cruises.<\/p>\n

Travel options<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Options include cruising one way to or from Sanya and flying\u00a0in the other direction.\u00a0Travelers may also stay and explore Hong Kong or Sanya pre- and post-cruise with a cruise and hotel package.<\/p>\n
