{"id":1075,"date":"2025-02-11T11:21:32","date_gmt":"2025-02-11T03:21:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ftpol.com\/en\/?p=1075"},"modified":"2025-02-14T11:22:52","modified_gmt":"2025-02-14T03:22:52","slug":"hainan-airlines-looks-to-sell-787-8-fleet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ftpol.com\/en\/hainan-airlines-looks-to-sell-787-8-fleet.html","title":{"rendered":"Hainan Airlines looks to sell 787-8 fleet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hainan Airlines has disclosed plans to sell its fleet of nine Boeing 787-8s, as it looks to \u201cfurther optimise\u201d its fleet structure and cut operating costs.<\/p>\n<p>The disposal will involve \u201cmarket-oriented methods\u201d, including a direct sale or a lease, says Hainan, which adds that the plan was approved by the airline\u2019s board on 27 January.<\/p>\n<p>Hainan adds that the deal will be subject to shareholder approval, and that it has not identified a counter-party to the deal.<\/p>\n<p>The airline\u2019s 787-8s are powered by GE Aviation GEnx-1B engines, and are configured to seat 213 passengers in two classes. The nine jets are between 10 and 12 years old.<\/p>\n<p>According to the airline, the -8s account for less than 3% of its total aircraft operations.
